How to cook dry rice so it's soft and sticky with two kitchen ingredients

However, it turns out there is a way to cook dry rice to make it soft and sticky rice. This trick was shared by a YouTube user named Phesi Esterju. In one of his videos, he shared his experience of having a stock of poor quality rice, which when cooked produced hard or dry rice. Rice like this is certainly not delicious if eaten directly. So, what can be done?

Well, to make the texture more sticky, he has his own trick. Reported by BrilioFood on Saturday (1/11), prepare two cups of rice and put it in a rice cooker pan. Then wash it clean.

After that, add water according to the rice. Well, so that the rice can be soft, YouTube user Phesi Esterju added several other ingredients. The first ingredient is 1/2 tsp of plain agar-agar powder. This measurement can be adjusted to the texture of the rice . If it gets harder, the agar-agar powder can be added.

In addition to agar-agar, you can also add a little sugar and salt if the rice is very bland. Both of these ingredients are optional, yes. Especially if the quality of the rice is really bad and bland. Well, sugar and salt will make the rice more legit later.

"But my rice is not like that (slightly better quality). I just want the rice to be soft, because it happens that my rice is a bit dry. So I don't add sugar or salt," explained YouTube Phesi Esterju.

Finally, YouTube user Phesi Esterju adds 1 tbsp of vegetable oil. Then stir until all ingredients are evenly mixed. Put the pan in the rice cooker, then press the 'cook' button and wait until cooked.

Once cooked, stir the rice. The rice from this dry rice looks more sticky and soft. According to YouTube user Phesi Esterju, the addition of agar-agar and oil does not change the taste of the rice at all. So, the rice remains delicious, legit, and more sticky.

"You can use this tip if you buy rice and the rice is not very good. If you use this method, the rice will be much tastier to eat and the rice will be stickier," said YouTube Phesi Esterju.
