Brilio.net - The use of rice cookers to cook rice has become the main choice for many people. This tool offers convenience and practicality in cooking rice, so it can always be relied on. With automatic features, making rice perfectly cooked without having to stir, rice cookers also help maintain the consistency of the texture of the rice produced.

However, even though rice cookers make cooking easier, there are some challenges that need to be considered when cooking rice with them. One of the main challenges is keeping the rice tasty and not easily stale. The reason is, even though it is cooked in a rice cooker, rice can go stale and taste sour in a few hours.

When it smells sour and unpleasant, many people choose to throw away the rice. In fact, instead of throwing it away, the rice can be consumed after being processed again. An Instagram user @ummubalqishaura once shared a simple trick when saving rice that is almost stale and starting to sour. With just 1 kitchen ingredient, the rice can be made delicious again and more suitable for consumption.

As reported by BrilioFood from Instagram @ummubalqishaura on Tuesday (10/9), the kitchen ingredient in question is lime. How to use it is quite easy, you can directly add lime juice to the almost stale rice. After that, add 3 tablespoons of water and stir until evenly mixed.

Next, re-cook the rice. If in a rice cooker, you can press the cook button and wait for the rice to cook. If you don't use a rice cooker, you can cook the rice by steaming it.

Once cooked, the cooked rice tastes better because it is not sour. Basically, lime helps neutralize the sour smell that arises from almost stale rice. In addition, lime also makes rice that is starting to turn yellow or dull (because it is almost stale), become white again.

Since it was uploaded on Friday (6/9), the video about the trick to save almost stale rice has been watched more than 4 million times. Who would have thought, many other Instagram users also gave direct responses through the comments column. Most of them admitted that the trick was very useful to imitate.

"Masyaallah, I always throw it away if I do this so often. Thank you, I'll try it later," said Instagram user @awisyarsyati.

"Wash the rice thoroughly like washing rice, then steam it again, what makes the wet mucus go stale, it's safe," said Instagram @ayatramadhani.

"So you don't waste rice anymore if you use this method, thanks for sharing," commented the Instagram account @putri_hmaira.

"Does it feel different, Umma?" asked the Instagram account @ayu_said_family.

"If the rice is almost stale, it's okay, but if the rice is already stale, it changes the taste," replied Instagram user @ummubalqishaura.
