With its distinctive taste and texture, many people like to consume this food ingredient

However, behind its deliciousness, catfish has a problem that makes some people reluctant to process it, namely the pungent fishy smell. The fishy smell of catfish comes from the fish's living environment, which is often in muddy waters, thus contributing to the unpleasant aroma. Well, this fishy smell can be very disturbing and make the cooking process less enjoyable.

To overcome this problem, there are several methods that can be used to reduce or eliminate the fishy smell of catfish. One of them is to remove the gills . But do you know? There are other parts that must also be removed so that catfish are free from fishy smell when processed.

Furthermore, the part of the catfish that must be thrown away was explained further by Instagram user @dirumah.khawla. Through one of the videos uploaded, she admitted that there was a blood clot inside the catfish that had a pungent fishy smell. Well, this blood clot must be removed and thrown away.

As reported by BrilioFood from Instagram @dirumah.khawla on Monday (26/8), the blood clots are on the right and left sides of the catfish's neck. So, after removing the gills, cut the right and left edges of the catfish's neck. Well, there you will see blood clots on the inside.
