The coins themselves have undergone numerous design changes, and today we look back on the older designs from Indonesia's past. Here are some of them:
1. 1755 - Dutch East Indies relics
2. 1780 - Dutch East Indies relics
3. 1804 - Used by traders in Singapore, known as '1 keping'
4. 1921 - Dutch East Indies coins, 5 cents
5. 1943 - Dutch East Indies coins, 1 cent
6. 1945 - Dutch East Indies coins, half cent
7. 1961 - The first Rupiah, 50 cents
8. 1962 - 1 cent, used in West Papua only
9. 1972 -A classic Rp2 coin
10. 1972 - Limited collection, used by a mining company in West Papua
11. 1974 - The coin used as part of the National Service Program campaign

13. 1979 - A coin design used for the Family Planning campaign
14. 1992 - This old Rp 500 looks pretty familiar
15. 1993 - The Rp 1,000 from your elementary days
