Brilio.net/en - Todays youth continues to break new aesthetic and creative ground in their art like never before. Among them are Ruli, a young man from Serang, Banten province who deftly turns matchsticks into cool photography objects.

The 21 year old started work on his artwork, which he calls Korekgraphy three months ago. He points out that the work came about from a handicap. (Korekgraphy) was inspired by my color blindness, which makes me unsuitable to be a photo editor or photographer as it will give me difficulties in the editing process. Matchsticks are less trouble for me to work with, as color isnt as much of an issue with the material Ruli tells brilio.net/en, Tuesday (22/9).

I also want to project an Indonesian identity through the matchsticks, a twist I decided to make after I saw illustrations of matchstick art on Google. I use my matchstick illustrations to tell a story, to reflect my love of writing and photography he adds.

Ruli adds that he makes his own photography properties. He points out that he can make a photo set or story in less than an hour on a daily basis.

Since then, Rulis work on Korekgraphy have been shown in the toy photography or creative photography categories, winning him a lot of hearts and a predominantly youthful following. His instagram account @Korekgraphy clearly reflects this, as it earned him over 13 thousand followers and many more web visitors.

To date, Ruli received orders from throughout Indonesia to make a matchstick birthday card or other objects using the material. (Making Korekgraphy) and and other matchstick art is still a hobby for me, so I have yet to consider making it a professional business he says. As long as it receives public acclaim, Ill be content just to let things flow. But regardless of whatever forms his matchstick art will take in the near future, theres no doubt itll be something to look forward to.
