The police informed that the Bocimi route would be temporarily closed for an unspecified period of time. This will result in the Bocimi Toll route being impassable for homecoming travelers and will obstruct the route of homecoming travelers.
Deputy Director of Traffic for the West Java Regional Police, AKBP Edwin Afandi, stated that before the landslide incident on the Bocimi toll road, this route was projected to become a route for homecoming travelers.
The police will coordinate with Jasa Marga to ensure the route and feasibility.
"Previously, Bocimi could operate for ketupat, because there was a landslide, Bocimi's operations were temporarily closed while waiting for Jasa Marga," said Edwin.
The West Java Provincial Government predicts that homecoming will be fastThe West Java Provincial Government predicts that the flow of homecoming routes for Eid in 2024 will be fast. It is predicted that the peak of homecoming traffic will occur on April 6.
It is known that West Java is the third largest destination for homecoming travelers after Central Java and East Java with an estimated number of 32.1 million people out of a total of 193.6 million homecoming travelers in 2024 on a national scale.
Various parties have prepared for the homecoming season, as stated by Agus Didik Suseno as Head of the Land Transportation Division of the West Java Province Transportation Service (Dishub) in collaboration with other agencies such as the TNI and Polri.
"So the peak of the homecoming flow nationally and West Java is different. West Java will be predicted to start homecoming from March 5 to 7. The peak is likely to be on the 6th. Well, Nationally it is March 6-8 so the peak is likely to be on the 8th," said Agus .
The results of the survey, according to Agus, are predicted to reach 5.5 million travelers in West Java who use two-wheeled vehicles. This number is influenced by the distance traveled to the community's homecoming destination which is not too far.
"The potential mode of choice is actually motorbikes. That's 5.5 million or 24.02 percent, private cars 4.5 million or 19.8 percent, trains 4.2 million or 18.63 percent, buses 3.8 million or 16 ".66 percent and rental cars 2.1 million or 9.13 percent," said Agus.
"The most motorbike travelers, that's the survey result, because maybe the distance is close, for example to Garut, Tasik and so on," said Agus.
Homecoming road repairs will be carried out in stagesAccording to data from the West Java Department of Highways and Spatial Planning (DBMPR), the total number of provincial roads in the damaged category is 380 kilometers. Provincial roads are 2,362.183 km long with a road stability level of 83.90 percent, while district city roads are 21,759.409 km long with a road stability level of 81.58 percent.
According to Jabar Muhammad, as the Young Expert for Maintenance and Development of the DBMPR, he explained that the 380.3 km of provincial roads which are in the damaged category are not included in the 2024 homecoming route.
Road damage is spread across various areas. Such as Jalan Parung Panjang - Bunar (Bogor), Jalan Cikadu (Cianjur) and Jalan Jampang Tengah Kiara Dua Sukabumi.
"Repairs to heavily damaged roads have begun to be carried out in stages. Especially for the Parung Panjang - Bunar route, we will receive direct assistance from the PUPR Ministry," said West Java.

"Currently, as of April 1, there are only 218 holes left and yesterday we monitored only a few more and hopefully by the end of this week there will be 0 holes for the route used by travelers," he said.
