Brilio.net - Ramadan fasting is one of the practices that is awaited and required by Muslims throughout the world, including Indonesia. There are many advantages and benefits that can be obtained during the month of Ramadan. Small things that are done every day, such as carrying out the intention of fasting at dawn during Ramadan, also provide many rewards.
When fasting, it is sunnah for Muslims to perform sahur before imsak time. Not just eating, at dawn you need to know the procedures and intentions for sahur during the Ramadhan fast in order to get blessings from Allah SWT. You can practice the intention of fasting for fasting during Ramadan before eating the food that is already on the dining table.
Even though sometimes you are too lazy to do sahur because you are too sleepy and it's hard to wake up, you need to get into the habit of continuing to do sahur every day. Not only that, getting used to practicing the prayer for the intention of fasting at dawn during Ramadan is also important, because it has many virtues which are explained in the hadith.
In more detail, here are the intentions for the Ramadhan fasting sahur along with prayers and priorities, complete with tips for diligently worshiping for the entire month which brilio.net has collected from various sources on Friday (23/2).
1. Intention of Ramadan fasting.
Some scholars believe that the intention to fast in Ramadan can be said only once when first starting the fast on the first day of the month of Ramadan. But some other scholars say that the intention of Ramadan fasting should be said every day. Then for the Ramadan fasting prayer, it is read or recited every day while having the suhoor meal.
Intention is essentially believed in the heart, spoken verbally, and practiced with actions. Well, if you want to pronounce the intention of fasting during suhoor, here is the intention of fasting that you can say:
"Nawaitu shauma ghadin 'an ada'i fardhi syahri ramadhaana haadzihis sanati lillahi ta'aala"
Meaning: "I intend to fast tomorrow to fulfill my obligations in the month of Ramadan this year, for the sake of Allah Ta'ala."
While the intention of Ramadan fasting for one month, the reading is as follows:
"Nawaitu shauma syahri romadhoona killahi lillahi ta'aala"
Meaning: "I intend to fast completely in the month of Ramadan this year for the sake of Allah Ta'ala"
2. Suhoor prayer of fasting Ramadhan.
Different from the intention, during suhoor it is also recommended to read a prayer, just like a prayer to start eating and drinking, as follows:
- Reading bismillah.
As in the hadith which means:
"When one of you eats, he should mention the name of Allah Almighty. And if he forgets, he should recite Bismilaahi awalahu wa aakhirahu"
- Read a prayer before eating.
"Allohumma baariklanaa fiimaa rozaqtanaa wa qinaa adzaaban naar.
"It means: "O Allah, bless us with what You have bestowed upon us and protect us from the punishment of hell" (HR. Imam Malik in Al Muwatha).
Because sahur is an activity of eating and drinking, then the two prayers above can be recited before starting sahur or before eating sahur. Further, when eating suhoor food, the prayer is as follows:
"Yarhamullah mutasahhiriin."
Meaning: "May God send down His mercy on those who break fast."
If you have finished eating and drinking suhoor, then you can end it by reciting a prayer after eating:
"Alhamdu lillahhil-ladzi ath-amanaa wa saqaana wajaalanaa minal muslimin"
Meaning: "All praise belongs to Allah, the One who gives us food and drink and makes us among the people who surrender."
3. The best time to run sahur.
Regarding the time of suhoor, there is a hadith that is often used as a guide, namely:
"From Anas bin Malik ra. that the Prophet SAW and Zaid bin Thabit ra. once ate suhoor. When they both finished eating suhoor, the Prophet SAW stood up to pray, then he prayed. We asked Anas about how long it was between finishing their suhoor both of them from the time of performing the morning prayer. Anas replied that about one person recited 50 verses (of the Qur'an)"
From the hadith, the scholars stated that the best time for suhoor is sunnah until near dawn. This is also in accordance with the hadith which explains to hasten breaking the fast and ending suhoor.
The Prophet Muhammad SAW said: "Hurry up to break the fast and finish the suhoor" (HR Ath Thabrani).
4. The priority of Ramadan fasting sahur.
In suhoor there are priorities for Muslims who do it, some of the priorities are as follows:
- Sahur is a blessing.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Sahur, indeed, there is a blessing in that suhoor."
- Angels bless those who perform suhoor.
It was narrated by Ahmad from Abu Said that the Prophet SAW said: "Sahur is a blessing. So do not leave it, even if it is only by sipping a mouthful of water, because indeed Allah and His angels bless those who break their fast."
- Sahur is a differentiating fast for Muslims.
The Messenger of Allah said: "The difference between our fasting (Muslims) and the fasting of the People of the Book (people of other religions) is eating suhoor" (HR Muslim)
