The Indonesian National Team (Timnas) has just achieved an important victory over Saudi Arabia in the 2026 World Cup qualifying match held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/19). Goalkeeper Maarten Paes , who plays for FC Dallas, expressed his gratitude for the presence of his girlfriend, Luna Bijl, whom he called a "lucky bringer".
In her Instagram Story upload, Paes wrote, " He always brings good luck " accompanied by a red heart emoji. This expression was also re-shared by Luna on her Instagram account.
This is Luna's first time attending the stadium to support Paes. In her Instagram Story, she showed the festive atmosphere in the stadium filled with cheers for the Indonesian National Team. Luna did not seem to be alone, as she was seen sitting with Sandy Walsh's girlfriend, Aislinn Konig, who was also present to watch the match.
On the other hand, Marselino Ferdinan performed brilliantly by scoring two goals that brought Indonesia to victory. His unique celebration after the second goal became a hot topic on social media. He sat relaxed on the official's bench while turning to the audience, showing a different style of confidence than usual.
Marselino explained that he had done the celebration before when defending the U-23 National Team against Jordan. Meanwhile, Sandy Walsh also celebrated the victory with enthusiasm, expressing gratitude to the fans who had supported them.
With this victory, the position of the Indonesian National Team in the 2026 World Cup Qualification Group C standings has improved. After previously slumping, they are now in third place with a collection of six points, with a chance to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. This victory was also supported by a draw between Bahrain and Australia which benefited Indonesia's position.
