A woman named Sarah who is also a teacher gave her story on TikTok. He said that Indonesia is currently not doing well. The reason is, even though they are in junior high school, many students cannot read or even memorize the letters.

"Indonesia is not doing well. Many junior high school students can't read and don't know the letters of the alphabet," he wrote, quoted by brilio.net , Thursday (1/8).
Apart from being a problem for the next generation, this will also increase work for junior high school teachers. Sarah said that she had the task of teaching students to read. This adds to his work because he uses time outside of teaching hours.

This then made Sarah question the role of parents at home. For him, every parent must monitor their child's development. Moreover, lessons in junior high school are no longer at the level of teaching or memorizing the letters A to Z.
"Please parents of students must be sensitive to their own children, junior high school lessons are already quite advanced when you have to teach your children the letters AZ," continued Sarah.
Apart from that, he also blamed the students' teachers at the elementary school. He suspected that the students' elementary school teachers did not seem to teach letters at all. He also questioned the school's decision to graduate the student even though he could not read.

"Primary school teachers can also teach them letters. How can you finish elementary school without knowing letters and not being able to read," he added.
Sarah admitted that she actually didn't mind if only 1 to 2 students couldn't read. However, at the junior high school where she taught, Sarah found 30 students who could not read. This certainly makes it difficult for him and other teachers to solve this problem.
However, he couldn't do much other than be enthusiastic as a teacher. Sarah and her colleagues have to fight hard every day so that these students can read.

Sarah's story then went viral and attracted the attention of netizens. Apparently, many people say that this doesn't just happen in junior high school.
