Brilio.net/en - According to a study conducted by BAV Consulting and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, the 8 most important factors when deciding to invest in a foreign country include: corruption, dynamic environment, economically stable, entrepreneurial, favourable tax environment, innovative, skilled labour force and technological expertise. All of the factors are equally weighted and taken from 16,000 survey participants in the United States.

The country at the number 1 spot, most likely not a surprise to the economically savvy reader is India, followed by Singapore at 2nd, and Vietnam coming in third. It is impressive to note that four of the five countries are in Asia and Southeast Asia. The fifth country is surprisingly Ireland, as the tax environment is ideal for booming industries with 12.5% tax, which is nearly half of average tax around the world.

Indonesia is the perfect place to invest in as it has the largest economy of Southeast Asia, mainly due to the petroleum and its abundant natural resources, from minerals to palm oil. The Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board has named industry as a top priority to develop. Infrastructure topped the list, which is a mirror reflection of the ongoing struggle across the nation spread across thousands of islands that is often interconnected by rickety bridges, slow ferries and bumpy roads. One factor that needs to be improved to boost Indonesia into the 21st century of commerce are the laws banning direct sales to foreign investors.

The World Bank group has listed four motivation factors that amp up individuals and corporations to invest in, and these include: natural resources, markets, efficiency and strategic assets, such as technologies or Brands. Indonesia has quite a few of these lined up, and seeing as more than $1 trillion USD are pumped into foreign investment every year, it would be a wise move to join the trend and invest in Indonesia.
