Brilio.net - Prayer equipment like clothes needs to be washed regularly to maintain cleanliness and comfort when used. Mukena is one of the special prayer equipment for women that is available in two models, namely direct (continuous) or separate models in the form of tops and bottoms. Many people choose white mukena because of its simple appearance, but white mukena care requires special attention because it is easily dirty and stained.
The habit of storing mukena in a folded state without hanging it can cause humidity, especially in parts that are often exposed to facial water. This humid condition encourages the growth of mold which is marked by the appearance of black spots on the top of the mukena. These mold stains make the mukena look dull, unkempt, and often cause a musty odor that is difficult to remove with ordinary detergent.
However, there is still a solution to clean mold stains on mukena without having to buy a new one. YouTube user Nurussiyamah has shared how to solve this problem through one of her videos. In the upload, she shows a mukena full of black spots and how to clean it until it is clean and white again.
The method used does not only rely on regular detergent, but also utilizes certain kitchen ingredients to help remove stubborn stains. The combination of detergent with these kitchen ingredients has proven effective in restoring the bright white color of mukena that has been stained with mold.
As reported by Brilio.net from YouTube Nurussiyamah on Monday (7/4), this YouTube user uses vinegar to remove stains.

In addition to vinegar, she also washed her white mukena with bleach and detergent. First, brush the part of the mukena that has black spots using bleach without mixing it with water. Scrub the stained part using an old toothbrush.

Next, the mukena is soaked in warm water mixed with detergent for 10-15 minutes. The soaking water looks cloudy and brownish. After soaking, rub the mukena and rinse with running water until clean. The soaking water that previously looked cloudy starts to look clear and clean.
"No need to soak it again. It's already quite cloudy, the soaking water doesn't look cloudy. So this indicates that there is no more dirt stuck to the mukena," said the YouTube user.

The final washing process, the YouTube user rinsed the mukena again with a fragrance liquid and vinegar. The mukena was soaked for a while before being rinsed and dried to dry. The mukena that had been rinsed and dried again looked clean and white like new again.
"Finally, to make the mukena smell like it has just been laundered, I add some perfume and food vinegar. So the aroma will last longer and be more fragrant," he concluded.
To care for white mukena so that the color is maintained, wash it separately from colored clothes so that it does not get discolored, and use a special detergent for white clothes or a gentle one so that the fabric does not fade quickly. Avoid harsh bleaches because they can damage the fabric fibers and make the color yellow.
After washing, dry the mukena in a shady place with enough wind and avoid direct sunlight so that the white color remains bright and does not turn yellow. Iron at low temperature and store in a clean and dry place, preferably wrapped in cloth or put in a special pouch to keep it neat and free from dust or stains.
