TransJakarta workers plan to launch another strike if their demand is not fulfilled within two days.

Acting Jakarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat suggested PT TransJakarta to recruit new employees iftheir workers still decide to continue the protest and strike.

"We'll see (on Wednesday). If they no longer feel belong at work, it's okay, we recruit the new ones," said Djarot at the City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday.

Djarot believed that everything could be discussed as he regretted how theworkers decided to strand the passangers mid-journey and stopped operating in a number of routes.

"I said there should be no more protest like that and then, leaving thecustomers. Remember, this is Ramadan, it was an appropriate thing to do especially in the holy month," he explained.

Djarot has given an instruction to the President Director of PT TransJakarta Budi Kaliwono to solve the internal dispute. Djarot is set tosummon Budi to explain the situation today.

"I called Budi via Whatsapp, the problem will be solved as appropriate and soon as possible," he said.

On Monday, hundreds of TransJakarta workers launched a strike in front of PT TransJakarta headquarter office in East Jakarta to demand permanent employee status or better employment scheme. They will launch another strike if the management doesn't fulfill their demand until Wednesday at 10.00am.
