Brilio.net/en - How would you feel if you bought a pack of eggs from the supermarket, and found out one of them had hatched in the next morning? Even if it hatched30 days later, its still quite a surprise.
A man incubated a box of twelve quail eggs he bought from the supermarket for a month and was stunned to discover that one actually hatched.
According to Mirror, the adorable chick, which the man named Albert, was bought at a supermarket in Haarlem, the Netherlands, by Alwyn Wils.
Later at home, the 45-year-old man placed all the eggs in an incubator and began filming their progress, hoping one of them was fertilised and would hatch.
To his astonishment, less than a month later, one of the eggs did hatch!

Alwyn was inspired to set an experiment with the eggs after reading an online article that said its impossible for the store-bought eggs to hatch, due to their lack of fertilization. He might have proven the article wrong, but like he said, Albert is one in a million.
To get a fertilised egg one obviously needs both a male and female. Since the male birds dont produce any eggs and the females lay her unfertilised eggs without the need for a male, eggs are rarely fertilised when they get to the supermarkets, said Alwyn.
On the internet it says everywhere that supermarket eggs are not fertilised, but I thought lets see if thats really the case, he added.
Alwyns friends and family think Albert is a very cool chick, and it gave all of us a great way of thinking: not everything is impossible if sometimes, at least, you give it a try.

After his new feathered friend, Alwyn has set up a YouTube channel named A Chick Called Albert. The baby quail has already become a viral hit in the Netherlands and was featured on a prime time TV show.
He is so tame that he is becoming a real house friend, said Alwyn. I know it is a bit soft, but in the end, it is just nice to get stories out there that create some beauty and bring a little smile to people's faces.
