An actor was fatally stabbed with a real samurai sword while rehearsing a play at a studio in Tokyo, Japan. The police are investigating the incident to learn whether his death was criminal or accidental.
Reports indicates that several actors were performing a fighting scene when the man was stabbed Monday (8/2), but no one saw what exactly happened.
Japanese public broadcaster NHK reported that the other actors saw Daigo Kashino bend over, with a wound in the abdomen, when they turned around after hearing him moan.
The 33-year-old actor worked with a theater group in downtown Tokyo. Soon after the accident, he was rushed to a hospital but they failed to save him. Kashino died hours later, police said.
The police didnt describe the detail of the sword, like whether it have had safety features to prevent injury.
