Brilio.net/en - Chinese state new agency Xinhua has revealed that an up-and-coming biotechnology company is setting into motion a plan to start cloning animals; from cattle to domesticated dogs.

The self-dubbed "world's largest cloning factory" will feature a production line, a cloned animal center, a gene bank, and an exhibition hall. The center for cloning will be located in the city of Tianjin.

Initial productions are planned as early as first quarter of 2016 after the company called Boyalife Group received a $31 million investment.

Dr. Xu Xiaochun the chairman and CEO of Boyalife told the Chinese media that the first animals to be produced at their 'factory' will be Japanese beef, in an effort to lower the cost of quality beef in China.

[We are] now promoting cloned cows and cloned horses to improve Chinas modern animal husbandry industry, Xu said.

The factory will actually be the result of a collaboration between two of Boyalife's subsidiaries with the Sooam Biotech Research Foundation from South Korea.

Sooam, unbeknownst to many people is the world's leader in commercial dog cloning. The scientific company has managed to clone 550 puppies since 2005.
