Brilio.net/en - Muhammad Ali, a sports and civil rights giant (and possibly the greatest boxer of all time) died on June 3 of this year, but his memory lives long in Indonesia.

Born Cassius Clay, Ali changed his name after converting to Islam in 1964.

He was an inspiring and controversial figure known around the world and adored by millions, especially in Indonesia.

Ali returned the sentiment. He visited the country three times. First, in October 20, 1973. He then came back at the special invitation of President Soeharto in 1981. His final visit was in October 1996, before Parkinsons disease made travel more difficult.
