Brilio.net/en - A 5-year old girl was reported to have fallen off from 38th story in an apartment in Central Jakarta on Monday afternoon. The poor girls name was Sherly and she died immediately on impact.
"Reported on Monday, March 21, 2016, a little girl died from falling off from 38th floor unit AK1, Sudirman Park Apartment, said Chief of Police of Central Jakarta, Chief Commissioner Hendro Pandowo to detikcom. The apartment is located on Jl. KH Mas Mansyur, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
The team of Criminal Police Unit of Metro Tanah Abang came to the location as they received the report and worked on the case all afternoon. According to Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Metro Police, Commissioner Mustakim, on his briefing to Liputan6, the body fell around the apartments pool at the south part of Building A at 13.45 p.m. The body was evacuated to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital for an autopsy.
The mother of the victim, Ririn (36), works as housemaid for a family who live in the apartment unit. The last time Ririn checked, Sherly was napping. Ririns employer asked her to go downstairs to pick up the employers child so Ririn left her daughter alone in the room.
She got a Whatsapp message by her employer to pick up the child downstairs, said the Police Chief of Metro Tanah Abang, Superintendent Jefri Siagian to Kompas.com. The apartment has security system that doesnt allow people to go in or out without access card, so Ririn had to go downstairs to open the door for her employers child to come into the residents area.
When she was on her way back to the room, however, Ririn got the information that her child had fallen and died instantly. From the investigation the police found that the balcony door was not locked. Allegedly, the victim jumped off, wrote Mustakim on his official report. Ririn is heavily traumatized due to her negligence that caused her own daughters death.
Meanwhile the incident location has now been cleared, locked and guarded by security and the apartment management refused to give any information regarding the incident, as Bintang.com reported.
