Brilio.net/en - A perigee full moon, also known as a supermoon, is a phenomenon that happens when the Moon's orbit brings it into alignment withthe Sun and Earthto look bigger to us on the ground.

When the Moon is exactly on one side of the Earth and the Sun is on the other. This makes the Moon appear 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than at the farthest point of its orbit - known as the apogee.

In 2016 there are three supermoons. The first was on October 16 and the final one is on the upcoming December 14. On Monday, we had the biggest one, which happens only once every 68 years.

Native Americans call the full moon in November the "Beaver Moon" or "Full Frost Moon", thus this year we have the "Mega Beaver Moon".

Below we gathered some of the supermoon views captured from around the world. Enjoy!
