Brilio.net/en - For the past four years, the Sony World Photography Awards has been the largest photo contest in the world. It rewards the best pictures illustrating the past year by talented photographers coming from almost every country.
Because the contest is open to everyone, the winners are classified according to their level of skill, and divided into: professional photographers, beginners, students. Among each category, there are many different subcategories: landscape, conceptual, portraits, etc. There are no boundaries to the creativity of the photographer, all themes are accepted. However, these pictures all have in common that they somehow represent a little bit of what the past year looked like.
The 20 pictures youll see below belong to the selection made by a jury of professionals. They were picked out among the 200.000 submitted pictures. With 180 different countries represented, the jury elected the best single image taken by a photographer from each country.
