The Jakarta police has committed to act professionally in investigating the report by Muhammad Hidayat over Kaesang Pangarep, the youngest son of President Joko Widodo, related to an allegation of hate speech.

"It doesn't matter, we'll (still) perform the investigation," said the Jakarta Police Spokesperson Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono, Jakarta, Wednesday.

Argo asserted that they will still conduct a follow up to the report, even if the person whose being reported is president's son.

"But, if it's not proven, we'll close (the investigation)," he continued.

In addition, Argo assured that they will summon Kaesang for questioning if the case complies with the criminal code.

Kaesang was reported to Bekasi police on Tuesday for allegedly defaming religion and spreading hate speech through his vlog. In the video, Kaesang commented on current problematic social issues in Indonesia and criticized the people yelling 'Kill Ahok!" and those refusing to perform prayer for supporters of former Jakarta Governor Ahokby calling them "Dasar ndeso!", which could be loosely translated as "you uncivilized people".
