ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, but police promises to conduct further investigation before accepting the statement.

Brilio.net/en - Indonesia's elite anti-terror squad Densus 88 secured three suspects of Kampung Melayu bomb attack on Friday. The three go under the initials J, W and A.

"This morning, we have detained three suspects related to Kampung Melayu bombing," said West Java Police spokesman Sr. Commr. Yusri Yunus.

"[They're] arrested in three different locations, in Cisarua, Margasari and Dayeuh Kolot," he said.

The three are now placed under Densus 88s authority for further investigation.

Yursri added the investigation result has found a link between the case and Bandung bombing that happened at Pandawa Park in Cicendo on Feb. 27, 2017.

"This could be related to Cicendo," he explained.

Previously, Densus 88 has identified the identity of the deceased suicide bombers: Solihin, an employee at Darul Anshor boarding school in Poso, Central Sulawesi; and Ichwan Nurul Salam from Bandung, West Java.

ISIS Involvement

Terrorist group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

"The executor of the attack on the Indonesian police gathering in Jakarta was an Islamic State fighter," ISIS news agency Amaq said, as quoted by Reuters.

However, police claimed they will conduct further investigation to check the two deceased suicide bombers network before confirming the validity of ISIS statement.

We will check the validity of the information by investigating the two perpetrators network, said National Police Spokesperson Setyo Wasisto to Rappler.
