After the reckless act of ISIS militants, the number of companies, social organizations and schools that were named ISIS no doubt felt an impact. Some were hilariously accused of having a connection with that terrorist organization based in the Middle East. In reality there are at least 270 patents labeled ISIS in the United States alone.

Even though the name of this salon is similar to the terrorist organization, Lori Pawson, the owner of Isis Salon and Day Spa said she has no intentions to change the name of her business.
"I have no regret for choosing that name and I believe that it represents something beautiful," says Pawson as quoted by CBC News.

This womens fashion store often gets a negative campaign because of its name which is similar to the world terrorist leader, ISIS. In fact, Jill Campbell who has been running the business for seven years was forced to clarify that her business are not related to ISIS.

Even a hardware company is even also named ISIS. Once you change the name because of their (ISIS) act, they will win and you lose. Thats the game they want to play with, said Bill Trevor.
8. ISIS Boutique, China

Chen Hong, the shops owner admitted that the name of his shop actually refers to a Chinese term called 'yisiyisi' which means a gift as an expression of gratitude. Having investigated by the local police, Cheng decided to change the name of his store because it is considered a sign of bad luck.

Wayne Heidrich, ex-ISIS golf club coach acknowledged that the terrorist acts performed by ISIS affects the reputation of his golf organization. "Publics opinions which is against them (terrorists ISIS) will not change our history. Moreover, we used the name first!"

This shop also felt a significant impact after the horrific tragedy that occurred in France. Moreover, their Ballyhoo was broken once by unknown people.
We are all hurting (because of Paris tragedy). Someone may have passed by and saw this ballyhoo which made them angry, said Karen CHarboneau-Harrison, the shops owner to CNN.
Aside from an organization or companys name, some people also felt the impact because of having the name ISIS. Isis Anchalee an example of one of these people. Her Facebook account was suspended by Face book because her account name contains the word Isis.
