A Sriwijaya Air Plane slid off runway at Rendani Manokwari Airport, West Papua, this morning.
Transportation Ministry spokesman JA Barata said that the incident caused no casualties. The plane with flight number SJ 570 came to a halt after sliding off the runway for around 20 meters.
"All passengers are safe. We're now doing passenger data checking and some evacuation efforts," said Barata, when confirmed byDetik.
The plane was scheduled to depart from Sorong to Manokwari. The runway at that time was reported to be damp or wet due to rain.
Rendani Airport was temporarily closed due to the incident and authoritiesimmediately issued NOTAM (Notice To Airmen) regarding the closing.
