Brilio.net/en - Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama's blasphemy trial scheduled to continue today at the Agricultural Ministry's auditorium in South Jakarta was postponed, today.

Public Prosecutor Ali Mukartono told the judges to consider the letter related to trial postponement from the police. In addition, the prosecutor reasoned that prosecutors have not yet put together their sentencing as they requested the sentencing hearing to be rescheduled.

However, on his statement to the media, Ali revealed that the plea drafting was unrelated with the letter from the police. "We only ask them to respond it as a part of the security. The security is the police's authority. We only ask for it to be considered. In fact, the plea has nothing to do with it," he told the media in the Agricultural Ministry's auditorium, Tuesday.

Around 9.30 am, Ahok left the courtroom. The sentencing hearing is then moved to April 20, 2016.

Previously, the police had sent a letter that demanded the North Jakarta District Court to postpone the sentencing hearing until the day after the runoff election for security purposes.
