Brilio.net/en - According to its neighbors in the South, the attempted missile launch that North Korea tried on Tuesday failed. South Korean military are saying that there was a test fire in the city of Wonsan at 5:20 in the morning.

It appears to be the latest update in a recent string of missile tests as the communist country tries to advance its weapons stockpile in an act of defiance against the international community that condemns them.

China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged all parties "to refrain from taking any action that may escalate tensions" on the Korean Peninsula. Which is a big statement from the closest ally of North Korea.

The actions follow several events by North Korea that were heavily criticized, including testing its first hydrogen bomb, and thankfully, failing.

U.S. President Barack Obama, speaking at the G7 summit in Japan on Thursday where he also gave a speech at the Hiroshima Memorial, said that North Korea was a "big worry."

"They're not at the point right now where they can effectively hit U.S. targets, but each time that they test, even if those tests fail, they learn something," he said. "It's clear that ideologically they're still convinced that -- and Kim Jong Un in particular seems to be convinced that his own legitimacy is tied up in the developing of nuclear weapons."

At any rate, South Korean chief is still preparing for danger from the north. "Our military has maintained readiness as (we are) bracing for possibilities of additional provocations," said Jeon Ha-gyu, the chief of public affairs for the JCS. South Korea even denied Uns proposal at having military peace talks citing that they didnt believe that Pyongang wasnt developing nuclear weapons to increase their arsenal.

According to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, only four countries are authorized to have nuclear weapons including: the United States, Russia, France and the United Kingdom. North Korea joins India and Pakistan on the list of countries that have conducted nuclear tests that arent part of the nuclear alliance.
