He promises to gun down every single drug dealer there is.

Jakarta Police Chief Ins. Gen. Idham Azis has declared war on drugs. He vowed to shot dead every drug dealer.

"To plead for forgiveness is between them (drug suspects) and God, but to send them to God, that's my job," said Idham on Tuesday.

The statement was delivered in the middle of his welcoming speech at the award ceremony to honor the Banten and Riau Islands Police, Customs, National Narcotics Agency (BNN) also Narcotics Division of Bareskrim for their cooperation in foiling 1 ton of crystal methamphetamine smuggling in Anyer Beach, Serang, Banten.

Idham also mentioned the drug network was disclosed by Tangerang Police and West Jakarta Police and praised themember who gunned down the drug dealer.

"I congratulate you. A report said someone (drug suspect) has been dealt decisively by West Jakarta and Tangerang [polices]. I like that," said the former Head of Profession and Security Division of the National Police.

Narcotics may wreck Indonesia's future generation and that was why he considered a drug trade as an extraordinary crime.

"Obviously, it's a government policy. If there are people who want to destroy our [future] generation, we act decisively. There's no compromise," he added.

He also ordered to all narcotics head unit to crack down on every drug syndicate. Idham even asserted that he would remove an officer who is incompetent in uncovering any drug networks.

When asked after the event about his commitment about shooting down every drug-related suspect, Idham confirmed, "Surely based on existing procedure."
