Dozens of protesters gathered in front of buildings on Jalan Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta.

They appear to be protesting across from the BKPM (Investment Board). Japanese companies are some of Indonesia's biggest investors.

There has yet to be further information on the exact place location, but the protest has caused severe traffic congestion for more than two hours on Jalan Gatot Subroto towards Cawang.

The protesters are mostly workers who are protesting against Japan, as seen from the banners and signs they hold, one of them reads Japan is the new colonizer.

They are part of a worker's group, whose name we are verifying.

Updates to follow.
