Basically, dishwashing soap has a formula that can remove dirt effectively. The active ingredients in dish soap are designed to break down and dissolve residue that sticks to the surface of the fabric. Although powerful in removing stains, dish soap is usually gentle enough that it will not damage or fade the original color of colored clothing.
On the other hand, vinegar is a mild acid that is effective in neutralizing alkali from detergent and removing stains. The acetic acid in vinegar can dissolve the minerals and residue that cause stains without disturbing the fabric's color pigments. Vinegar also has antibacterial and odor-eliminating properties that help keep clothes clean and fresh.
Baking soda itself has mild abrasive properties that help remove stains without damaging fabric fibers. Baking soda works by removing dirt and oil, and neutralizing unpleasant odors. Apart from that, baking soda can also reduce the hardness of water, thereby increasing the effectiveness of detergent in the washing process. The combination of its mild abrasive properties and its ability to neutralize chemicals makes baking soda safe for use on colored clothing.
By utilizing dish soap, vinegar, and baking soda, fade stains can be treated effectively without the additional risk of staining clothes. All three work synergistically in removing stains and maintaining the integrity of the color of clothing, making it a natural and safe solution to the problem of faded stains.
