Brilio.net - Raffi Ahmad once announced plans to build a Beach Club in the Krakal Beach area, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta at the end of 2022. The construction plan for the project will begin in 2023. However, this immediately drew criticism from the public because it was considered to be detrimental to the environment.

Nagita Slavina's husband wants to build a project on conservation land. So harsh criticism was leveled at him, one of which was from the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (Walhi). In fact, recently a petition was circulated to reject this development.

The petition published via change.org has been signed by more than 50 thousand people. Seeing the confusion over this issue, Raffi Ahmad, who is currently in the Holy Land, immediately made an official statement in video form.

"Assalamualaikum, I'm Raffi Ahmad, I want to greet all Indonesian people, thank you for all the words and prayers to me and my family, especially during the Hajj moment, please pray that the Hajj is prosperous," he said on Instagram @farrinagita1717 on Tuesday (11/6) .

The video, which was taken with the Grand Mosque in the background, was intended to convey the announcement that he had decided to withdraw from the project. Raffi said that he felt the public's concern about his plans not being in accordance with applicable regulations.

"And I hereby declare that I will withdraw from my involvement in this project, because for me whatever I do in my business must comply with the regulations in force in Indonesia," he said.

Apart from that, Raffi also said that the business he runs should provide benefits to the Indonesian people. If there are signs that his business could cause losses, Raffi admits that he will not mind abandoning the plan.

"Especially, it must be able to provide good benefits for all Indonesian people," explained Raffi.

"If this does not provide benefits and can cause harm to society and the environment, I will withdraw from this project," he continued.

Before Raffi gave clarification while he was carrying out the Hajj pilgrimage, netizens also flocked to create Instagram stories as a form of rejection. So far, 106,000 accounts have reposted the Instagram story.

"Raffi Ahmad's Beach Club could damage the Gunungkidul karst which is recognized by Unesco," wrote in the instastory.

The post also worried about the project because it could create a water crisis for Gunungkidul residents. The reason is that the Beach Club will be built in a location where the land is in a karst area and it is important to hold water. So that the area should not be allowed to stand any buildings.

"The residents of Gunung Kidul are now experiencing a water crisis. If this Beach Club is built, there will be a water crisis, drought, karst damage, floods and landslides," continued the post.
