Denny Sumargo , star of the film Miracle In Cell No. 7 , finally kept his promise to say goodbye to the Rp1.3 billion donation chaos involving Pratiwi Novianthi alias Novi and Agus Salim, the acid attack victim. The case has been in the spotlight for the past 3.5 months and now Denny has chosen to step down.
In an emotional statement, Denny revealed that his intention was to resolve the issue and did not want anyone to become a victim. "Enough, I don't want to hear anymore. That's why today is the last day, so for Agus, Bang Densu also apologizes if he can't be the best as a mediator. I'm honest, my heart is sad," he explained.
After the decision to channel the donation money to the victims of the natural disaster in Lewotobi, NTT, Denny felt it was time to step down from this case.
"The point is, I can't promise anything to Agus. Later, Agus just come to me. I will give you the medical expenses. Later, I will put him in the hospital, you go get treatment. I can't promise anything more. To Novi, Bang Densu, I'll also say goodbye," he added.
In a clarification video on the YouTube channel Curhat Bang Denny Sumargo , Denny could not hold back his tears when apologizing to Novi who was present with his attorney, Gerry Julian. He also reminded that the podcast he created was intended to help others solve problems, and he did not want to get caught up in bigger problems.
"Many people ask: Bro, you're at that level, why do you have to deal with these kinds of problems again? I say: The water in the sky should come down to earth to provide its benefits. Then it goes back to the sky," he said, describing his good intentions to help.
At the end of his statement, Denny also apologized to fans and viewers who might feel disappointed by this prolonged situation.
"I also apologize to all my viewers who are disappointed with me because this problem has dragged on. The point is that we have arrived here. Bang Densu is taking his leave, okay? The donation is finished, Bang Densu is taking his leave from Novi. Gerry, take good care of yourself," he concluded with the hope that there will be wisdom behind everything that happened.
