Brilio.net/en -Singaporean digital company SixCap and Gadjah Mada University has recently established a partnership to launch a mobile app that will allow people to report forest fires in real-time.
With the app, users will be able to send pictures and the exact location of a forest fire and report the level of its severity from 1 to 10.
Users will not have to depend on an internet connection to use the app as it will operate using SMS.
"However, this app is still a prototype," SixCap chief executive Paul Teng said, as quoted by Straits Time.
The 28-year-old hopes the app will be ready for release on July 2017.
Both SixCap and UGM last month signed an agreement to increase Indonesia's economy using digital platforms.
