After experiencing a failed marriage with musician Ahmad Dhani in 2008, Maia has now found happiness with successful businessman, Irwan Mussry. However, before achieving that happiness, Maia and Irwan's love story was not as smooth as it seemed.
Maia also openly told how she and Irwan Mussry became close. The mother of three revealed that they had actually known each other since they were teenagers.
Although they have known each other for a long time, Maia admitted that she never imagined that she would be soulmates with Irwan. In fact, at the beginning of their closeness, Maia felt afraid.

He revealed this when he appeared as a guest star on Richard Lee's YouTube podcast some time ago. He admitted that the fear arose because of his past trauma and Irwan's very wealthy status.
"I was a bit scared at first," said Maia, quoted by brilio.net from Richard Lee's YouTube channel, Sunday (8/9).
"Sometimes we are with people who are too rich, I'm a bit afraid. In fact, I used to be a bit traumatized by men," he continued.
Although initially full of fear, Maia revealed that Irwan fulfilled the criteria of the partner she had always dreamed of. Until finally, the two were officially married on October 29, 2018 at the Camii Mosque, Tokyo, Japan.
"For me, when I haven't met Mas Irwan, I really set standards, I don't want someone on the same level as me, let alone below me, I don't want to," said Maia.

Maia also revealed her reasons for choosing Irwan Mussry. Not only because of his wealth, Maia fell in love with Irwan because of his wise character and dislike of making things worse.
"He (Irwan Mussry) is very smart and wise," said Maia.
"Being able to play hot things, not being someone who likes to gossip or provoke, doesn't like gossip, that's the part I like," he explained further.
Irwan is also always able to provide solutions without making the situation more complicated. Maia believes that in a relationship, such qualities are very important.
"If I have a problem, he can give me a solution," she said. "The most important partner can provide a solution, not just stir things up," she added.

Irwan's attitude of never forcing his will is also one of the reasons why Maia respects him so much. As an independent and assertive person, Maia feels more comfortable with a partner who respects her freedom of thought.
"I have never been forced to follow my wishes, and I will be more obedient to people like that," he said.
"I prefer someone who directs me to think with my own logic, but he directs me correctly," explained the mother of Al, El and Dul .
After going through various traumas in the past, Maia has now found happiness with Irwan. A man who not only meets the criteria of a life partner that Maia has always dreamed of, but is also able to make her feel comfortable and calm in living her married life.
