The boy was Soimah . During elementary school to junior high school, he was not only busy studying, but also working hard. He once became an ice block carrier, lifting chunks of ice from afternoon until dawn. In fact, he was willing to carry ice 200 meters to get additional income.
It doesn't stop there, every morning at 3 am, Soimah rushes to the market to help her mother sell fish. She cleans, sprinkles hundreds of fish with salt, and dries them on the beach. She does all this before going to school - all to help her family and pursue her dreams.
From that hard work and perseverance, Soimah is now known as one of the pesinden and versatile artists in Indonesia. Her journey is proof that dreams do not only belong to those born into luxury, but also to those who dare to fight tirelessly.

He also said that he always smells of fish. He even feels ashamed of his palms because they are reddish black from helping to grill fish every day.
Teenage Soimah became increasingly interested in the world of art. Thanks to the advice of her aunt, MM Ngatini, who is the wife of the administrator of the Bagong Kussudiardjo dance school in Yogyakarta, Soimah became closer to the art community and continued her education at SMKI (Indonesian Karawitan Middle School) majoring in karawitan.
Soimah then continued her education at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta. In the middle of her studies, Soimah was flooded with calls to sing from stage to stage. Because she already understood how to make money independently, Soimah chose not to continue her studies and stopped in semester 6.
Soimah's career as a sinden skyrocketed when she joined the Jogja Hip Hop Foundation. Together with the art community, Soimah went on her first world tour on May 14, 2011.

From there she started her career in the Indonesian entertainment world by appearing on a television station, ANTV. Soimah was appointed as a background singer on the show "Segeerrr".
Soimah's career did not stop at the world of singing. However, because of her talent, she was also trusted to host many television programs, both comedy and music shows.
Struggling to climb the entertainment world from zero, now the 42-year-old artist has succeeded in achieving her success despite going through difficult obstacles. Soimah's rate was revealed after Marshel Widianto asked the D'Academy judge to sing at his wedding. He said the rate reached hundreds of millions of rupiah.
"Want to know my price off air? Rp 300 million. Surely you think it's a joke, huh?" joked Soimah.
It's just that Soimah explained that the rate is actually negotiable. Although it is considered fantastic, Soimah does not just take off-air jobs. This is adjusted to her mood.
"It's negotiable. There are some that are Rp 500 million that are rejected. If I go off air, it depends on my mood. It's not that I don't need the money. But if it's big, I'm not in the mood to go, I won't take it," explained Soimah.
