"The KPU wants our upcoming Pilkada to be held in a joyful, cheerful, and non-scary manner. Film media, joyful media, we use as a means of information sources so that all parties will be happy to then make the Election a success and come to the TPS in the Pilkada on November 27, 2024," said Mochammad Afifuddin, Chairman of the KPU Commission for the 2022-2027 period.

The film Tepatilah Janji tells the story of the family of Mrs. Pertiwi (Cut Mini) and her three children. Politics entered this family when her eldest son, Adam (Bima Zeno) became a village head. The regional election that Adam participated in was full of competition and the complexity of political behavior without ethics. This situation brought various reactions from Adam's wife, Tari (Faradina Mufti), and his younger siblings, Isham (Kevin Abani) and Sekar (Shenina Cinnamon). The story continues not only about political drama, but also becomes a comedy drama and a romantic drama.

Mother Earth's love affair with Pak Janji (Ibnu Jamil), which has yet to reach an end, is complicated by the euphoria of the villagers and political brokers as well as the issue of dynastic politics which has spread to the village with social media mixed with village gossip. A story that tests the process, ethics, and behavior of leaders and citizens in the approaching regional elections.

Garin Nugroho, director of the film Tepatilah Janji , explained that this film shows how leadership is tested by the ability to fulfill promises, both promises stated in the constitution and personal visions for the welfare of citizens.

"This film is needed for citizen education when politics loses its dignity in guiding society so that the political process produces a healthy, critical, and productive civil society," said Garin Nugroho.

The film Tepatilah Janji will be shown in limited cinemas in Indonesia, as well as several national television stations and OTT. In addition, traveling screenings will also be held in public spaces, alternative screening spaces, and open-air cinemas in various regions in the country. Look forward to the schedule of traveling screenings and joint viewings that will be announced on the KPU social media accounts and the Tepatilah Janji film media accounts .
