Brilio.net - The Javanese romantic comedy drama film, Seni Mengejar Kekasih launched its official poster and trailer, Wednesday (7/8). Starring Elang El Gibran and Febby Rastanty, the film by IDN Pictures is scheduled to air on 5 September 2024 simultaneously in all cinema networks in Indonesia.
The poster features the main characters Elang El Gibran as Agus and Febby Rastanty as Kalis, who are taking shelter from the rain while looking at each other with expressions full of happiness. Meanwhile, with a roadside bookstore and a motorbike in the front, the poster depicts Agus and Kalis' love story full of simplicity.
In addition to Elang El Gibran and Febby Rastanty, the film also stars Sisca Saras, Devina Aureel, Yusril Fahriza, Beni Siregar, and Desy Genoveva. The film is directed by Jeihan Angga, who previously directed 'Mecca I'm Coming' and succeeded in becoming the Selected Feature Film at the 2021 Maya Cup.

'The Art of Understanding a Lover' also marks Desy Genoveva's big screen debut. Jeihan Angga said that the film invites the audience to better understand Indonesian culture.
"Although 'Seni Mengejar Kekasih' focuses on the comedy drama genre, this film is also rich in Indonesian cultural values, using Javanese as its dialogue to support the story set in Solo and Yogyakarta," he said.
Winston Utomo, CEO of IDN, said he was very enthusiastic about presenting The Art of Understanding Lovers to Indonesian audiences.
"This film not only offers a warm and funny love story, but also brings up rich cultural values. We hope this film can inspire and entertain many people," he said.
This adopted film tells the story of the love journey between Agus Mulyadi and his wife, Kalis Mardiasih. Agus Mulyadi is a blogger from Magelang who often discusses his daily life, socio-politics, football, and popular issues on social media. Meanwhile, Kalis Mardiasih is a writer and young activist of Nahdlatul Ulama who cares about social issues, especially women.
Susanti Dewi, Head of IDN Pictures and Producer of the Film Seni Mengejar Kekasih, said that she tries to convey a relatable and meaningful love story through strong characters and a unique cultural background.
"I am sure this film will touch the hearts of many viewers," he said.
The story of Agus and Kalis before marriage will be the main focus of this film, showing a simple love but full of laughter and happiness. Elang El Gibran, the main actor, said that this story will be very relatable to many people, especially those who are away from home, because it shows the twists and turns of the lives of boarding house children.
"With Agus and Kalis' condition in the film as boarding house children, I think this film can touch the hearts of many viewers, especially those who have lived in boarding houses," explained Elang.
The Art of Understanding Lovers is the second film from IDN Pictures released this year, after 'Pasar Setan' which aired last February. IDN Pictures previously successfully presented Citra Cup-nominated works such as 'Sleep Call' and 'Srimulat: Hil yang Mustahal - Babak Pertama'.
