90s singer Nadila revealed her surprising decision to take a break from the music world. After releasing the duet single "Kulakukan Semua Untukmu" with Fatur, Nadila chose to go on hiatus along with her decision to wear the hijab.
As she grew older, Nadila felt it was important to live a better life. She comes from a family with a strong religious foundation, and this was one of the reasons behind her decision.
"Because as I get older, I realize that I don't want to be like this. My family is strong in religion, everyone wears the hijab, it's just me," she said in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, on Sunday (9/2).
In addition, Nadila also faced a dilemma when her child who attends an integrated Islamic school saw a difference between her appearance at home and on social media.
"My child also goes to an integrated Islamic school, and every time they drop her off, they have to wear a hijab. It's also a dilemma when they see me wearing a hijab at school, but when I'm on TV or social media, I'm wearing revealing clothes," she added.
Nadila's worries grew when her child reprimanded her to wear more covered clothes. "That was a dilemma for me, I was afraid my child would be embarrassed or something. And my child often said when I wore revealing clothes, 'cover up Mom, this is my private parts'. So it was time for me," she recalled.
Great Family Support

Nadila feels grateful that her decision to wear the hijab has received full support from her family. They understand how she felt when she suddenly lost her job due to her change in appearance.
"Very supportive . They know how hard I worked before recording and becoming a singer. When they faced me suddenly being at home, they really understood my feelings, and were very supportive," he said.
Nadila continued, at that time the children who were still young did not understand the consequences they experienced because of their decision to wear the hijab. However, they were happy to find their mother at home more.
"Maybe because they are still small, they don't understand yet. But what is clear is that they are happy because their mother is often at home," said Nadila.
