Atiqah Hasiholan's extended family is currently facing a rather complicated problem, which was forced to be revealed to the public. This problem began with a report filed by Husin Kamal, the grandson of Ratna Sarumpaet , who is Atiqah's mother, regarding alleged inheritance embezzlement.
On Monday (12/24/2024), Atiqah gave testimony at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Jakarta, and the examination process lasted quite a long time, reaching eight hours. "From 10 am to 6.30 pm. So it was quite long," she said in the Hot Shot broadcast uploaded on the SCTV YouTube channel. She also added that the problem her mother was facing had actually been around for a long time.
"This is actually something that has been going on for a long time. This issue has been around since 2012. Now in 2024, it has emerged and been brought to the police. Yes, it's a surprise, but not a surprise," explained the star of the film Mencuri Raden Saleh .
The issue began in 2007, when Atiqah's father passed away. The inheritance became a hot topic among the three families, considering that the deceased had been married three times.
Husin Kamal's father, who is also one of Atiqah's older brothers, suffers from schizophrenia. In a family discussion, Ratna Sarumpaet was appointed as the guardian to manage the assets.
"Although Mrs. Ratna Sarumpaet is the guardian, I also help manage and guard my sister's property and assets. So a lot of information is needed here (at the police station)," added Atiqah.
From Husin Kamal's side, the problem began in 2011-2012, when he was still a minor. He claimed that Ratna Sarumpaet tried to separate him from his mother.
"There were several attempts to divorce Mrs. RS as my mother's guardian and mother-in-law. Physical separation and divorce in court. But the results were zero," said Husin Kamal in the Hot Shot broadcast.
Atiqah Hasiholan firmly denied her nephew's accusation that her mother was trying to separate her daughter and son-in-law. "(Husin Kamal told the media) at first my mother separated my brother from his mother. That is absolutely not true. We have evidence, we have many witnesses, that this is not true," she said firmly.
Husin Kamal also claimed that he had difficulty asking for money for his education. "I once asked for education money from Mrs. RS as my father's guardian, but it didn't end well because I was thrown out," he said.
