Brilio.net - The news about comedian Marshel Widianto becoming a candidate for Deputy Mayor of South Tangerang (Tangsel) is still a hot topic of conversation. Even though he is supported by top artists like Raffi Ahmad, quite a few people also criticize him. One of them is fellow comic Kiky Saputri.
Kiky Saputri's disapproval of Marshel's advancement was conveyed during a podcast with Denny Sumargo. Through the YouTube channel, Confide Bang Denny Sumargo, Kiky initially guessed what was the reason why Marshel decided to run for the 2024 regional elections.
"I'm brave enough to take a step, and I haven't talked because of what? Because of need? Or because I don't feel good? Or because he just can't go anywhere. My feelings are more of the three," said Kiky, quoted by brilio.net on Thursday. (18/7).

As a friend and close to Marshel, he said that the disagreement was because Kiky realized that an executive position was not an easy responsibility. Moreover, Marshel was not in the city where he grew up. Kiky said he was more supportive of his friend running as a legislative candidate.
"The thing is, the mayor has an executive position. The executive position means he is the person who will carry out the duties. OK. Executor of the law," said Kiky.
"Moreover, he was placed in Tangsel, which is not his territory. He doesn't know what the problems are in Tangsel. Unless he was put in a pot in the place where he was born. Maybe he will know what I mean," he continued.

Jokingly, Kiky said that it would be better for Marshel to become a member of the DPR. The reason is, in terms of workload and responsibilities, the DPR is said to be easier. Kiky even pointed out that legislative members have only slept so far.
"But if he becomes a legislative candidate, I might support him. Because it's easy, his job is just to sleep. Sleep, wake up, have a meeting, that's it," said Kiky.
Even though he wasn't supportive, Kiky basically didn't speak ill of his friend at all. However, the position as a leader must be accompanied by sufficient experience. Meanwhile for Kiky, Marshel does not have that experience.

"Certainly he would be able to do it if Marshel had, for example, if he had really been a politician, for example, he had been going for 3-4 years. He really got involved in it. But this happened suddenly," added Kiky.
Furthermore, if he is forced to continue running in the 2024 regional elections, Kiky just wants to give a message to his friend. He said it would be better if Marshel had a strong mentality.
"Yeah, just be strong mentally, Shel. It's the same if you can get a good deal, Shel. Because when it comes to career and all that, this is his responsibility, right? If he wins, thank God," concluded Kiky.
