Brilio.net - The news about the nomination of comedian Marshel Widianto as a candidate for Deputy Mayor of South Tangerang has received endless criticism. Not only netizens, many comic colleagues do not support this intention. As is known, Marshel Widianto is running with Ahmad Riza Patria who is supported by the Gerindra Party.
Responding to this criticism, Marshel didn't seem bothered. Even though his friends seriously said they didn't support him, he only took it as a joke. Apart from that, the man who was born on May 20 1996 thinks that this is just a form of appreciation for himself.
"You could say that's what stand-up comedians always do when they respect the person they're talking about, it's the same as roasting. He is well aware that many comments were directed at him and Ahmad Riza Patria. However, he did not use this criticism to be gloomy, but rather as evaluation material. According to this, it is good for future development.
"So, from the many comments that have been made to me and also to Mr. Ariza, that is especially for me, that is an evaluation for me. How can I be better. And why am I confident that I can lead as deputy mayor of South Tangerang, because "I started from the same anxiety," he said.
Furthermore, Marshel admitted that he had traveled around South Tangerang to look at problems which would later be resolved through his vision and mission as regional head. One thing he saw was the large number of social inequalities.

Reminiscing about his past, Marshel himself had difficult life experiences. Because of this, he admitted that he would fight so that this inequality no longer exists in South Tangerang.
"And I saw when I went down there, what I felt in the past, when I was living hard and poor, who couldn't get the best rights with people who weren't as fortunate as me. So from that anxiety and that fighting power I have "For them and for my friends, there is no longer any social inequality in South Tangerang," said Marshel.

It is known that apart from Gerindra, Marshel's nomination as a candidate for Deputy Mayor of Tangerang was also supported by the Indonesian Solidarity Party. The letter of recommendation for support was submitted directly by PSI General Chair Kaesang Pangarep at the PSI DPP office, Jakarta.
Marshel will be accompanied by Ahmad Riza Patria as candidate for Mayor of Tangerang. It is known that Ahmad Riza Patria is a former deputy governor of Jakarta who replaced Sandiaga Uno, accompanying Anies Baswedan. He served from 2019 to 2023.
