Brilio.net - After a long hiatus from the music world, Salman Al Jugjawy has finally returned with a new work. The musician formerly known as Saktia Ari Seno, former guitarist for Sheila on 7, released a single titled Hey Dunia. This song is special because it also features the voice of his friend, Akhdiyat Duta Modjo.

For Sheila on 7 fans, this song might sound familiar. Hey Dunia is actually another version of the song Sephia created by Eross Candra and released on the album Kisah Klasik Untuk Masa Depan (1999). However, Salman changed the lyrics to be more reflective and have a deep spiritual meaning.

Salman revealed that the lyrics of this song were written when he was on a missionary journey to the interior of Sulawesi around 2010-2011. During the journey, he felt tired and spontaneously hummed the song as a self-motivator. The vocal notation also turned out to be similar to Sephia, although at that time he had not discussed it with Eross or other Sheila on 7 members.

It was only in 2024 that Salman had the opportunity to meet his friends in Sheila on 7 again in the Tunggu Aku Di (TAD) concert. From this meeting a serious discussion arose to change the lyrics of Sephia and rearrange the song to be more relevant to his mission in preaching.

"After chatting with Eross, Duta, and Adam, they were very supportive. In fact, Duta spontaneously said, 'I'll be excited if you sing at Kon, you know,'" Salman recalled.

The recording process of Hey Dunia also involved Jogja musicians such as Tomo Widayat and Ali Hasan (Iyonk). Salman felt grateful because many parties helped in the making of this song.

"This song is not only about music, but also about preaching. I want to spread a message of goodness through art," he said.

The single Hey Dunia was officially released on Monday, February 17, 2025, on various digital music platforms, and is available in video clip format on the Salman Al Jugjawy TV YouTube channel.
