He was accused of asking for money from culinary business owners on the grounds of offering consulting services. The alleged extortion practice emerged after screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation between Codeblu and a restaurant owner were widely circulated on social media. In the conversation, Codeblu reportedly asked for payment ranging from IDR 350 million to IDR 600 million to become a consultant for a restaurant that he had previously criticized in his content on TikTok. This has led many to question his integrity as an influential food reviewer in cyberspace.
Amid the spotlight on the alleged extortion case, Codeblu's private kitchen has also attracted the attention of netizens. He has been known to often create cooking content, but has never shown his kitchen in detail. As a food reviewer who often criticizes the cleanliness of restaurants, his kitchen has not escaped public scrutiny.
