As is known, the divorce petition filed by Andre Taulany was previously rejected by the Tigaraksa Religious Court on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The judge rejected the petition because the arguments submitted by Andre regarding continuous disputes and quarrels were not proven.

"The panel of judges rejected the applicant's application," said Ummi Azma.

The judge concluded that the problems faced by Andre and Rien were more related to the lack of communication between them. It was not a major dispute that was in accordance with the legal provisions for divorce.

"From the considerations, the applicant and the respondent only experienced a lack of communication. This reason does not fulfill the provisions of Article 39 paragraph 2 of Law No. 1 of 1974 concerning marriage in conjunction with Article 19 letter F of Government Regulation No. 9 of 1975 in conjunction with Article 119 letter F of the Compilation of Islamic Law," explained Ummi.

Andre Taulany first filed for divorce against Rien Wartia on April 4, 2024. Based on information from the Case Tracking Information System, the mediation process between Andre and Rien was initially unsuccessful. The divorce petition was then registered under case number 1668/Pdt.G/2024/PA.Tgrs.

Now, with the appeal he filed, it seems Andre is still determined to continue the divorce process even though his application has been rejected by the religious court. The final decision regarding this appeal will determine the fate of their household in a higher court.
