If you mention the name Furry Setya, surely many people already know it, especially since you can say the name of his role in the soap opera Ojek Pengkolan as 'Mas Pur'. Furry Setya's name skyrocketed with the character Purnomo (Mas Pur) in the soap opera Tukang Ojek Pengkolan. This was proven by him surviving for 7 years in the soap opera.
Before tasting fame, Mas Pur had a quite sad life journey. The first time he came to Jakarta to change his fate, this 40 year old man only had capital of IDR 300 thousand.
He spoke about this in the Siyap Bos program which was broadcast on a private television station. Furry came from Semarang, Central Java to Jakarta in 2008 with the intention of becoming an artist.
"Bring Rp. 300 thousand and 5 pieces of clothing, those clothes are also not suitable for casting. Finally I went to Jakarta together with my friend. From Semarang by economy train, the price was Rp. 32 thousand," said Furry.
Furry said that at that time he was still with his first wife. He is willing to leave his wife in order to achieve his dream as an artist in the capital.
"In my heart, I will not return to Semarang until I am successful," he continued.

Furry's determination to be successful and have a career in the world of entertainment was tested when he first arrived in Jakarta. He ended up sleeping at the station without any known relatives in the capital.
"The intention was to get off at Senen Station, I didn't know at that time who I wanted to stay at. If I didn't have any relatives in Jakarta, there were people in Tangerang, Bekasi and that was far away. Finally, we got off at Jatinegara by accident. We slept at Jatinegara station, said Furry.
Thankfully, Furry had a friend who was willing to give him a ride to stay. He also settled in a music studio that had not been used for about three years.
Before becoming the main actor in a soap opera, Furry tried out various professions. He has also been a comedian and extra.
His role as an extra was only paid IDR 75 thousand. However, Furry said at that time, his honorarium was not enough to meet his needs in Jakarta.
"Paid Rp. 75 thousand when he was an extra to become a thug, he was told to get angry," he explained.

Furry also shared a sad moment that will certainly not be forgotten. He admitted that he only had IDR 1,500 in his pocket, even though at that time he was invited to go to the casting.
"In the beginning in Jakarta, I ran out of money, that was in 2008, so I had IDR 1,500 in my pocket, I wanted to use that to pay for transport to the casting location," he said.
This man who once formed the music group D'Ketans even only eats 1 egg a day. In order to save money, Furry also divided the eggs he had cooked into two, for breakfast and after casting.
"I ate half of one egg, I ate the rest when I got home from casting," said Furry.
Furry said he did this because he didn't want to bother his parents any more. Until an even more sad incident happened where he felt hungry and had absolutely no food.
"How do I do it? I don't want to ask my parents, I go to the bathroom and drink tap water," he explained.

As time goes by, Furry's popularity continues to increase. Filming the soap opera TOP, which has been carried out since 2015, has brought its own blessings to Furry Setya.
It cannot be denied that as the main player, Furry Setya received a fantastic honorarium. If he used to live in a boarding house, now he can build a big house to live in with his family.
