The golden voice that lit up people’s lives has gone

Brilio.net/en - Indonesias music world is grieving again. Solo singer Mike Mohede passed away from an apparent heart attack on Sunday, July 31.

The news of his death was broken by singer, actor and fellow Indonesian Idol alum Kunto Aji on his personal Twitter account, Innalillahi wa innailaihi rojiun. Our best friend, brother, and role model Mike Mohede has passed away. Please pray for him.

The 32-year-old singer was the winner of Indonesian Idol Season 2 in 2005. His melodious voice and powerful talent attracted millions of fans and a debut album, Mike with the single Semua Untuk Cinta followed shortly after his victory in the series.

His hard work earned him nominations for AMI awards in the categories of best male artist and best R&B album. His had two more hit singles in Ku Mampu Tanpanya (2013) and Kucinta Dirinya (2014).

Mike liked to interact with his fans directly in his on-air and off-air appearances throughout the country. His popularity led him to represent Indonesia at Asian Idol in 2007. He performed at international events including Java Jazz Festival and collaborated with international musicians like Dave Koz and Vinnie Valentino.

Mike also performed for world leaders also at the APEC Conference in Bali in 2013. From 2013 to 2014, Mike was involved in the production of albums for some of Indonesias top musicians, including Bebi Romeo, Ahmad Dhani & Indra Lesmana and Pongki Barata.

He released his final album in June last year.
