Brilio.net/en - Earthworms should get medals for doing the dirty work no one else wants to. They keep our planet going. Without them improving the physical structure of the soil, were pretty sure that there would be a big agricultural problem.
There are so many benefits of having a horde of earthworms in our farms. They increase the amount of air and water that gets into the soil. They break down organic matter, like leaves and grass into things that plants can use. When they eat, they leave behind castings that act as a very valuable type of fertilizer. The best part is, theyre doing all the services for free!
Despite all the benefits, we have to admit that worms are pretty creepy to behold. From the way they look with no clear head or back-end to the way they slither and move about, don't they just make your skin crawl?
Well, its easy to think that theres nothing worse than picking up a big rock only to find a bunch of writhing worms underneath. But thats before you see this giant bad boy: a 1.5-meter earthworm!
