A woman's reckless act of climbing Mount Dukono in North Maluku which is currently erupting has gone viral on social media. Instead of getting praise, this woman actually received scorn from netizens because her action was considered very dangerous.

The video uploaded by account X (formerly Twitter) @dolanid shows the woman standing on the edge of a volcanic crater that is emitting smoke. In the video, she appears relaxed and even enjoying the moment, even though the eruption is quite serious with rumbling sounds and hot lava coming out.

The woman's identity is still unknown, as is the reason behind her courage to climb the erupting mountain. What is clear is that she was not alone, as someone else recorded the video.

Netizens flocked to give negative comments on this brave action. Many warned against imitating this dangerous action. One comment said, "This is very dangerous, don't imitate it." While others added, "What's the point?" and "Scary, afraid it will suddenly explode." These comments show how many people are worried about this reckless action.

Mount Dukono is currently at Level II or Alert status. On Sunday morning, December 1, 2024, the mountain erupted again, emitting ash as high as 1,200 meters. Dukono Volcano Observation Post Officer, Bambang Sugiono, reminded the public not to carry out activities within a three-kilometer radius of the mountain's crater.

Mount Dukono is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia, with a long history of eruptions. Since 1933, the mountain has erupted continuously. The active crater of Malupang Warirang on the mountain is known for its powerful roar, similar to the sound of a jet plane taking off.
