One of the interesting stories came from a student of the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia. The student shared his impressive mentoring experience with Faisal Basri. Although Faisal is a very busy person, he still treats his students with extraordinary attention and respect.

A student shared his experience while doing thesis guidance with Faisal Basri. The student described how busy Faisal was so that he had to make an appointment far in advance. However, even though he was busy, Faisal still showed his commitment to his students.

The story was reposted on X account @noturspecialbae. The account shared a screenshot of a tweet that appeared in 2019.

"I remember at that time an FE UI student told me that he wanted to be tutored by Mr. Faisal Basri, because he was really busy, my friend had an appointment at 9, but he had been coming since 8.30 and when he met, he was asked whether he had an appointment or not," he wrote, quoted by brilio.net on Thursday (5/9).

This experience shows how Faisal always tries to keep his promises even though his schedule is very busy. For Faisal, mentoring his students is very important. This shows how much he cares about the future of the young people he mentors.

While in the middle of a tutoring session, Faisal received an important call from one of the ministry officials. However, he preferred to stay focused on his students.

"While I was in the middle of the guidance, suddenly a call came in from someone from the Ministry of Finance, but the call was rejected by Mr. Faisal Basri," he recalled.

Faisal's decision to ignore the important call shows his clear prioritiesstudents come first. For him, thesis guidance is no less important than government affairs, because he sees students as the future of the nation.

The most touching thing was when the student asked Faisal to answer the important call, but Faisal refused with a very inspiring reason. He preferred to finish the guidance first.

"Then the person who told me said, 'I'm sorry, sir, just pick it up.' "Then Mr. Faisal Basri said, 'You are more important than that telephone call. You are the future successor of the nation. I will call you back when the matter with you is finished,'" said the student with great emotion.

Hearing those words, the student felt truly impressed and amazed by the attention given by Faisal. Netizens then commented on the humility of the late Faisal Basri.

"Masya Allah, he is a supervisor who knows his responsibilities and can manage his time. Hopefully there will be many like this so that students don't suffer more mental stress because supervisors are busy," said @dhykibumelf.

"Oh my God, meanwhile, there are so many other supervisors who have such a hard time responding to just WhatsApp," said @diarydumpsss.

"Please let those who have good stories about ALM know, so that it will be a memory for the next generation that we have good people in the economic field," praised @YaumilRahm84154.
