Jakarta Bina Marga Head Yusmada Faizal revealed that they are ready to open the latest addition to Semanggi Interchange for public on July 29, 2017.
The opening will also be a soft launching before the project inauguration later by President Joko Widodo on August 17, 2017.
"July 29 is the target for open traffic. The Governor (Djarot Saiful Hidayat) is pleased to conductthe soft launching," said Yusmada at the Jakarta City Hall, Monday.
In general, the Semanggi Interchange project has been entering a completion phase, leaving the Bina Marga to only prepare the traffic signs and road markings to be installed along the area.
"Open traffic is used for public. While we conduct an evaluation, there'll be route changes. Heading for HI (Hotel Indonesia) [roundabout] is now possible with a shortcut,"said Yusmada.
The load test on the Semanggi Interchange has been donea few days ago by stationing sixteen 30-ton trucks fully loaded with sand, reaching up to 480 tons of load in total.
"480 tons [of load] were put, stretched across the 80-meter-long curved bridge, [and] the bridge managed to stand still," said Yusmada.
