How to purify: To purify najis mukhaffafah, it is enough to sprinkle water on the part affected by najis. No need to scrub or wash excessively. The water used must be clean and pure.

2. Najis mutawassitah (moderate Najis)

Example: Najis mutawassitah is najis moderate. Examples of these impurities are blood, pus, adult urine, and human or animal feces.

How to purify: To purify najis mutawassitah, the part affected by najis must be washed with clean water until it loses its color, smell, and taste. If the excrement is on clothes or cloth, then it should be washed clean. If the excrement is on the floor or hard surface, it should be flushed with water until it is clean.

3. Najis mughallazah (Heavy Najis)

Example: Najis mughallazah is a heavy najis. Examples of these impurities are the saliva of dogs and pigs, as well as everything that comes from both.

How to purify: To purify najis mughallazah, the part affected by najis must be washed seven times, one of which is by using soil or dust. This process is known as "tanning". First, clean the part affected by faeces with water until it loses its color, smell, and taste. Then, mix soil or dust with water and rub it on the part affected by feces. After that, rinse with clean water six more times.
