Brilio.net/en - One of the newest majors in Art and Design Faculty at Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Denpasar has just celebrated their third anniversary on Friday, April 22, 2016. To make it different this year the Film and Television study program held their first all-day movie-screening program titled Universary at their campus function room. The buildings entrance and hall were decorated with a red carpet and a fun and interactive backdrop for photo sessions.
In the main rooms waiting room were booths of sponsors and three themed booths. The latter was students creations: bloody birthday room, haunted cemetery and Beauty and the Beasts living room. Four characters were dressed up in cosplay to support each room. The sponsors were IM3 Ooreedoo, Urban Life shop, Global shop and other smaller local sponsors.
The opening ceremony was attended by the university rector and deans, lecturers and students. The event was also as a ratification of the campus collaboration with Tantraz Comics Bali, a Balinese publishing company focusing on Indonesian cultural and historical art pieces. Tantraz opens their door not just to comics but to any kinds of artwork, be it poetry, short stories, novels, manuscript translations, research studies, and even music. As long as it relates to the nations legend, mythology or fable, they offer a new way of digital publishing.

With the ISI, Tantraz accepts the art students of any major to work or intern at the comic studio. By this collaboration Tantraz hopes that more of young Indonesian can be aware of the importance of the cultural history and its implementation in todays life, which can be represented in art. On the other hand, ISI helps bridging their students to professional life.
The event then continued with movie screening, which aired selected students projects that divided into two sessions. There were Warna-Warni, Tali, Mata & Minuman Bersoda Warna Merah, and Kopi Pagi Ini for the fictions and Bersama Lupus, Manuk Rawa, Sang Asu, Joged Bumbung and Mencari Bomantaka for the documentaries.
With this anniversary celebration event, Dr. I Komang Arba Wirawan as the dean of Film & Television major wishes that his students can improve their skills and creativity as well as networks for real jobs and that Indonesianespecially Balinesemovie industry would be able to give better and worthy shows in the future.
